TRAINING PHiloSOphy:
Brenda’s philosophy is to train where you’re at, not where you used to be or where you think you should be – meet yourself where you are right now. From there, she will help you progress safely and at the right speed for you. Brenda always focuses on foundational movements and strength to start – she wants you to be strong from the inside out.

Favourite Exercise
Brenda’s favorite exercise is the deadlift. It develops full body coordinated strength and translates directly to everyday life. Also, picking up heavy things, putting them back down, and then picking them up again is just so satisfying!
HISTORY
Brenda can’t remember a time when she wasn’t active. She’s played many sports, but her dedication to basketball earned her a spot on the women’s varsity team at the University College of the Cariboo. She grew up riding horses, and as an adult fell in love with the sport of Endurance Racing, which she competed in for 15 years. These days, her passion is ultramarathons, which she has been competing in for 14 years. She also loves walks with her doggies, weightlifting, and doing anything in the mountains.
In 2015 Brenda suffered a severe concussion in a horse accident, which took over a year to recover from. This traumatic experience transformed her life and put her on the path to leave her corporate career and pursue her passion in health and fitness as a Personal Trainer and Ultramarathon Coach.
She combines her experience as a life-long athlete, recovering from multiple severe injuries, and strengthening her mindset, to help people overcome physical challenges such as injuries or reaching a new level in sport, as well as the mental and emotional challenges that come with those physical challenges.
TraininEE TYPE
Brenda has worked with kids as young as 9, and adults into their 70s, including people who want long term health, people who have complex injuries and chronic pain, and high-performance athletes. While Brenda enjoys the variety of people she has been privileged to work with, her favorite people to work with are young athletes. She uses weights and her experience with mindset coaching to help young athletes improve in their sport. The discipline of lifting weights plus mindset coaching bleeds into the rest of their lives, helping them overcome whatever challenges they may face in the future.
