FAQS
Is it safe to start exercising after 60?
It is never too late to start exercising! In fact, it becomes increasingly more important as we age.
What are the benefits of fitness for seniors?
Everything! Bone density and strength/power are two of the most important benefits for seniors. But the list is endless: balance, confidence, independence, increased joy from physical ability and hobbies, heart health, cognitive health, and more!
Can personal training help with balance and fall prevention?
Yes, the cascade effect of increased fall risk begins with a loss of power. Personal training is a great place to develop or maintain power in a safe environment.
Will the program be customized to my health conditions or mobility level?
Yes, any preexisting conditions are taken into consideration when creating or implementing programs. Our trainers are all extremely well-versed in working with individuals who have health conditions that may limit their ability.
How often should someone over 60 exercise with a trainer?
Our Movement Over 60 class runs three times per week: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 10am. For most people, 2-3 times per week is a great entry point.
Do I need a doctor’s approval before starting training?
We require all individuals (regardless of age) to complete a physical activity readiness questionnaire (PAR-Q). If any questions require more attention, your doctor’s approval is needed before beginning an exercise program.
Do I need prior experience or high fitness to join?
No! We offer modifications so everyone can participate safely—even if you haven’t exercised in years.
Is it safe with health conditions or limited mobility?
Yes. Trainers design movements with your health history in mind and ensure adaptations are built in for safety.
How often should I attend?
We offer classes four times per week — Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday — which is great for steady progress.
